Open Role: Product Engineer, Backend — HyperProbe

Build the Future of
AI-Native Debugging

HyperTest is building HyperProbe — the runtime data layer that lets AI agents debug production failures in real time, directly from your IDE.

The Company & Product

HyperTest is building HyperProbe

The Company

HyperTest

A YC S26 company based in Gurugram, building developer tools for the AI-native software era. We are at the stage where Cursor, Manus, and other category-defining AI companies were in their first year.

The Product You'll Build

HyperProbe

The runtime data layer for AI-native software. AI is writing more production code every month. When it breaks, AI agents need to know what actually happened at runtime — not guesses from logs. HyperProbe captures actual variable state from running services without redeploying, and exposes it to Cursor, Claude Code, and any AI agent via MCP.

The Problem

AI writes production code. Debugging it is broken.

AI is writing production code.

Every month, more production code is generated by AI agents — Cursor, Claude Code, Codex. When that code breaks, engineers and AI agents are flying blind.

  • Logs show only what was printed
  • Stack traces miss actual variable state
  • Reproducing bugs locally is slow
  • Redeploying to debug adds risk
  • AI agents can only guess what happened
"AI agents need to know what actually happened at runtime — not guesses from logs."

HyperProbe is the fix: capture real variable state from live services, no redeploy needed.

Three steps. No redeploy. Debug from your IDE.

1

Attach to your running service — no redeploy

HyperProbe uses bytecode rewriting and native tracing hooks to attach at runtime, with zero overhead on untraced code paths.

2

Capture actual variable state at the moment of failure

Real variable values, call stacks, and runtime context — captured precisely when the bug happened, from your live service.

3

Expose to AI agents via MCP — debug from your IDE

Cursor, Claude Code, and any MCP-compatible agent can call HyperProbe and investigate production failures without leaving the editor.

Result: Debug production at the exact moment of failure — from your IDE, no guesswork.

You Own a Domain End-to-End

  • Build a production-grade SDK in Python, Go, or Java
  • Go deep on runtime internals: bytecode rewriting, native hooks, low-overhead variable capture
  • Contribute to the MCP server that lets Cursor & Claude Code debug live services
  • Make architecture decisions that shape the product roadmap
  • Own the full developer experience: CLI, SDK behavior, runtime systems
Is This You?

What We're Looking For

You're a fit if you...

  • ✓Have 1–2 years at a product company (not services). Internships count.
  • ✓Are strong in Python, Go, or Java — from production, not coursework.
  • ✓Have wrestled with real system design, perf, or architecture problems.
  • ✓Have owned features end-to-end: designed, shipped, watched them work.
  • ✓Thrive when things move fast — we ship weekly, sometimes daily.

This isn't the role if you...

  • ✕Are treating this as a stepping stone to explore YC startups
  • ✕Care more about your title than the work itself
  • ✕Ask about leaves and working days before asking about the product
  • ✕Want predictable scope and a defined career ladder

What You Get

"We are at the stage where Cursor and Manus were in their first year. This is that window."

Ownership

Own a real domain end-to-end at a YC-backed company from day one. Not a feature — a whole system.

Mentorship

Direct access to founders. No layers. No politics. You talk to the people making decisions.

Impact

Shape architecture decisions that define what HyperTest becomes. Your voice carries at this stage.
