  • A Few Screening Questions Before You Begin

Hi, everyone. I'm Samprada Kamath, a graphics and UI/UX designer. Basically, my journey starts from a love of crafting. With an artist background, I found it very interesting to explore more things into it. That's how I got to know about graphic designing, and I did a part-time course over there, which was for a duration of 3 months. Later, I interned at one place. After which, I started my journey as a freelancer, taking on projects even though I was very new and inexperienced at the time. As I went further, I joined as a junior graphic designer at ForexCart, which helped me learn more about graphic designing beyond one particular brand. I started working at another agency. That's when I switched to Zeppelin Media, where I worked on multiple clients, which helped me broaden my vision and creativity. It wasn't limited to that, and I wanted to explore more about the designing field, so I joined InKnowledge Factory, a digital marketing platform. There, I further explored my skills and created campaigns that were very successful. I received appreciation from the client, which was a remarkable achievement for me. And post that, I started freelancing again with Cloud Studio.

While maintaining consistency, it is very crucial to understand what is the priority for the client. If a client's requirement is particular in one field, so you must mostly focus on delivering that first and the other things later. Once you segregate the priority of all projects, you make a to-do list accordingly. You schedule all the things, all the marketing materials required, and then you go further in that particular field. By organizing data and working on it is the only way you can get an accomplished project, and the client would be happy as well.

When it comes to designing social media creatives or any marketing material, 1st and foremost I prioritize the logo. The logo, brand color, which is to be used, the theme, and the color palette are all important considerations. However, the most important thing is the readability, which is reflected in the font style. The font style you use is very crucial because it's how you deliver your message to the audience. If they're not able to read it, they won't understand your product. So it's very important that your messages are very clear and prompt when it comes to designing.

What design techniques do you use to ensure? Oh, why your primary focus must be on the product or service you're highlighting. Whichever industry the client is in, the message must be very clear and concise. Whether it's a product, the product must be prominently highlighted, and the USPs of those particular things must be clearly mentioned. Apart from that, when it comes to service, the service must be properly mentioned, with proper use of images, and proper use of infographics or whatever the content is about. Maintaining the right icons for infographics, as well as maintaining the right image, is one of the most crucial things required to communicate what you're trying to tell the audience. This is a basic thing. Apart from that, the content: the content must be short, crisp, and does not have to take a lot of time from the user to read. Since the reading time is three seconds, the user loses engagement. So, you must be very clear about how you place your text. The context to be placed within a 1000 x 1000 dimension must be very crisp and clear, where your practice is also seen, and the context of it is also seen. As well as, when it comes to service, it's very important that the main headline of the particular service is to be seen. That's how you can deliver the message across.

What steps do you take to adapt a typeface? I mostly use AI tools. Being advanced in AI tools is one of my most go to thing. If at all AI is not an option, I look for similar fonts across various websites, which I'm very well aware of. And if that's not the case, I curate my own font on Illustrator, and that's how you get that particular font style.

This is Adobe. Are you proficient? Yes. I am proficient in Vectornator, Zeppelin, Spline, and Procreate. These are all artistic platforms, mostly freehand platforms and 3D modeling platforms, which are used for websites.

What are the key considerations when designing web pop ups? The color. The color must be very prompt. The size of the pop up box must be very prompt. It must be engaging. It must not be too bright that hurts the user's eyes. It must be soothing enough, and it must be very easy enough for them. It must be so properly simplified that they can easily enter their data and soon click on submit button. The buttons over here play a crucial role when it comes to pop up. You must be very careful about what type of buttons you select and the placement of it. The pop up usually is at the center. Otherwise, at the right hand side at the bottom right hand side. These are the basic 2 corners when the pop up is used.

When design comes with limited brand guidelines, it broadens your perspective on how you place your ideation within that particular limited field. So for me, when it comes to mimicking a design style with minimal brand guidelines, I adapt a minimalist approach based on the client's plan guidelines. There is limited room for play, but there is still a lot of variety that can be created. You can make use of images instead of focusing solely on color. This helps you get out of a rut and takes you further when it comes to designing. You get a lot of engagement when you use images more. Visuals are more appealing than a plain static thing. Making use of images in brand guidelines is one of the best things I can think of, as it can help both the client and yourself when designing, and the client will be happy with the result. The user will also be engaged with the content on your digital platform.

To create a course in design, there are two types of ways. One is traditional marketing and one is digital marketing campaigns. Depending on traditional marketing campaigns, there are various dimensions and various ways to involve and inculcate it. Always remember that the design on social media is very different from traditional media platforms. The font must be crisp and clear on online platforms. Whereas, when it comes to traditional marketing techniques like brochures, the banners used in the backdrop must be placed in such a way that if a person is walking around, it must be possible for the human eye to capture the required details. In contrast, when it comes to digital platforms, the campaigns must create less content, focusing on a specific point you want to convey. You can create a carousel or a connecting grid. This is how you take on a marketing campaign successfully. Apart from that, you can also design a series of six posts, which can be used throughout the week to help engage users continuously with you.
