Achievements

  • Worked on infra deployment and migration of apps in GCP as part of migration activity from AWS to GCP
  • As part of app migration, created GitLab CI/CD templates for app build and deployment in GKE cluster, created vault secret and parameters configuration for storing application secrets and configurations required for pods to run.
  • Worked on cost optimization activities in EKS cluster by automatically shutting down the pods periodically in the lower environment based on the pod failure status with multiple reasons such as key values missing in configmap key value, crash loop back error etc., thus saving some cost
  • Migrated self-hosted GitLab from Amazon Linux to Ubuntu by exporting the GitLab DB backup and importing them to a new server. Post which upgraded to next higher available versions.
  • Optimized CPU and memory configs of 80+ pods and brought down the cluster cost from 1300$ to 650$ per day and moved the pods wherever it can be hosted on spot nodes instead of on-demand nodes in SPOT by NetApp console.
  • Worked on AWS WAF implementation/configuration in front of the website.
  • AWS EKS version upgrade from v1.21 through v1.23.
  • Written a python script to extract AWS EC2 security groups and its inbound and outbound rules for audit purposes.
  • Written a python script to extract daily cost for each service used in AWS and generate a report required for the management team.
  • Automated access management for AWS console, DB, and EC2 server ssh access for developers in lower environment using python, ansible and create a GitLab CI/CD pipeline for providing access to above resources.
