Our history

The Opus team has been contributing to a safer and cleaner world since the company was founded in 1990. But our story goes back even further through our acquisition, Envirotest, which has been pioneering US emission testing since the early days of environmental awareness in the 1970s.

Throughout our history, we have been at the forefront of new technology and solutions that increase the quality and efficiency of inspections and help drive higher standards. In recent years, our remote sensing and diagnostic technologies have made emission testing more reliable and scalable.

This passion for innovation continues to be a driving force as we have developed our business through acquisitions and organic growth. In our Intelligent Vehicle Support division, we are doing some of our most exciting work to date, developing the next generation of diagnostic and programming solutions to support automotive service technicians in the run-up to complete vehicle automation.
