Here’s the thing about job descriptions: everyone knows they matter but almost nobody wants to write one. Especially, founders.
If you’ve used a typical JD builder, you know the drill. It hands you a form with 15 odd fields and by the time you’re done, you’re just doing the homework. If you have not used a JD builder on the other hand and used AI to generate it, then you know you will still spend the next hour matching the JD to your company context and industry requirements.
So we tried to build something that would work on all counts. AI-powered Job Description Builder.
Here’s how it works:
- You drop in your work email. The tool fetches your company context automatically, what you do, the space you operate in. (If you’re in stealth, it won’t pull anything. You just tell it a line or two about who you are.)
- Then it asks you two or three simple questions: what are you hiring for, how big you are etc?
That’s it. That’s the whole input.
From there it writes the JD for you. And not a generic template with your company name pasted in. It takes 3 things and matches them together:
- Your company context
- The specific role you’re filling, and
- What that role actually looks like in your industry.
The output covers what the person will own, what you’re looking for, how they’ll work with AI, how your team works, who the role is for. A real, detailed JD you can copy, download, and post right away.
You see, over time we have realized that a good JD doesn’t just need to attract the right people but also be able to filter out the wrong ones.
A vague JD gets you a flood of applications you have to see through. A sharp one does some of the screening before anyone even hits apply.
So we wrote it to serve both sides of the table. From the founder’s side, it captures what you need to say about yourself, your company, and the role. From the candidate’s side, it includes what a good engineer actually wants to know before deciding whether to apply.
Think of it as a founder’s office assistant. You’re busy. You don’t have an hour to craft a JD from scratch, and you shouldn’t have to. You give it the basics, it does the flesh-and-bones writing. You stay in control of the final call.
